Felicia S. Fortune, MA: Director of Marketing.

Felicia Fortune joined AFC in 2003 as a Marketing Representative and was promoted to Director of Marketing. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the company’s marketing strategy, advertising, media, public relations, brand management and development, occupational medicine, and patient relations. Felicia has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Felicia graduated from the University of Alabama where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Arts Degree. Also, she has certifications in leadership development, teacher’s training, and CPR/AED Instructor. Felicia values and enjoys working with people and lives life in the “pursuit of purpose”.

Mark D. Garst: Director of Claims Processing Center.

Mark D. Garst joined AFC in November of 2011 as Director of CPC. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of AFC’s accounts receivables and functions. Mark has over fifteen years of management experience in the health care field having worked in large health systems to small physician offices. In his prior position, he served as Director of Patient Accounting for a large multi-state Hospice provider. Mark received his B.S. degree in Health Services Administration from Auburn University in 1985. Mark later received his Masters in Business Administration from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Michael Perley: Director, Business Development-Occupational Medicine.

Michael Perley joined AFC in 2012 as the Director of Business Development for the Occupational Medicine Department. At AFC he is responsible for hiring and training a staff that will be well versed in Occupational Medicine issues, and can go out in the communities around each of our clinics and promote these services. He has been working closely with Occupational Medicine and Worker’s Compensation clients for twenty years in the Birmingham area. Mike graduated with a BS from the University of South Alabama and completed is graduate studies from UAB.

Reagan Langner: Director of WeighToLive.

Reagan Langer joined AFC in April of 2012 as Director of WeighToLive. . Reagan is responsible for educating staff, starting the WeighToLive program in new and existing clinics, and improving the overall quality of the program. Prior to joining American Family Care in April 2012, Reagan worked in Government Healthcare contracting for 13 years where she was responsible for procuring and maintaining government healthcare contracts while maintaining a working relationship with both the government and subcontractors. Reagan also managed a medi-day spa for 10 years where she oversaw daily operations, finances, and assisted in developing a weight loss program. Reagan graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001 with a degree in Health Promotion.

Bonnie Leavins: Director of Physician Services.

Bonnie Leavins joined AFC in 1990. Prior to joining American Family Care, Bonnie worked in the Mental Health field. Her tenure affirmed her desire to be a part of the health care community in a leadership role. Bonnie became a part of the AFC team early on when the company consisted of only six clinics. Her role at that time was Administrative Assistant to the C.E.O. Also, as head of Human Resources, she was responsible for in-house payroll as well as physician credentialing, scheduling, and recruitment. These experiences provided a formidable foundation that allowed her to successfully transition into her current role as Director of Physician Services. In addition, Bonnie assumed an active role in the development and execution of the new clinics added to the company over the next few years. American Family Care has grown into a leader as a health care providers and Bonnie feels fortunate to have been a part of this continuum.

Anthony Williams: Director of Information Technology.

Anthony Williams joined AFC in March 2012 as the Director of Information Technology. In this role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership and directing the overall planning, organizing and execution of all IT-related functions. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. Anthony joins AFC with over 19 years of Information Technology experience. Anthony has a B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and will also receive his MBA from Auburn University in May 2013. Prior to joining AFC, Mr. Williams operated an IT services company in Birmingham, AL.
