Felicia S. Fortune, MA: Director of Marketing, Occupational Medicine, and Patient Relations.

Felicia joined American Family Care in 2003 as a Marketing Representative and was promoted to Director of Marketing. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the company’s marketing strategy, advertising, media, public relations, brand management and development, occupational medicine, and patient relations. Felicia has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Felicia graduated from the University of Alabama where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Arts Degree. Also, she has certifications in leadership development, teacher’s training, and CPR/AED Instructor. Felicia values and enjoys working with people and lives life in the “pursuit of purpose”.

Bonnie Leavins: Director of Physician Services.

Bonnie joined American Family Care in 1990. Prior to joining American Family Care, Bonnie worked in the Mental Health field. Her tenure affirmed her desire to be a part of the health care community in a leadership role. Bonnie became a part of the AFC team early on when the company consisted of only six clinics. Her role at that time was Administrative Assistant to the C.E.O. Also, as head of Human Resources, she was responsible for in-house payroll as well as physician credentialing, scheduling, and recruitment. These experiences provided a formidable foundation that allowed her to successfully transition into her current role as Director of Physician Services. In addition, Bonnie assumed an active role in the development and execution of the new clinics added to the company over the next few years. American Family Care has grown into a leader as a health care providers and Bonnie feels fortunate to have been a part of this continuum.

Jim Kerr: Director of Human Resources.

Jim joined American Family Care in 2005 as Director of Human Resources.  In this capacity, he is responsible for Employment & Staffing, Compensation & Benefits, and Employee Relations. Jim is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has over 25 years of experience in the research & development, biotechnology and healthcare industries.

Debbie Huddleston: Director of Training.

Debbie joined American Family Care in September, 2004 as the Front Office Trainer. Since then the company has created a Training Department of which she is the Director. Her department is responsible for training new and existing front office employees on the company’s Practice Management software, Centricity as well as front office policies and procedures. Her department also trains all new and existing clinical staff and physicians on Aprima, the company’s Electronic Medical Records software. Debbie holds software training certificates in both applications. In addition the department delivers Customer Service Orientation to all new staff and oversees the management of the company’s intranet site. Her background includes sales and sale management as well as training. Prior to American Family Care, Debbie was the Southeast Regional Training Manager for a major telecommunications company.

Christopher J. Sherrod, Sr. : Director of Purchasing.

Chris joined American Family Care in 1993.  He has served in several capacities including Lab Director, Birmingham Operations Director, and Purchasing Director.  As Purchasing Director he is responsible for procurement, contract management, inventory control, and fixed assets.

Barry Rowe : Director of Laboratory Operations

Barry joined AFC in June 2005 with 22 years of healthcare experience in both hospital and clinic settings. He has been in clinical management for the past 17 years. During his time at AFC, Barry has held the position of Clinic Manager at Greensprings, Hoover, and most recently the Alabaster Facility. His present job duties include: day to day operations of the Central Laboratory and Clinic Laboratories company wide. Barry is also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and training of Laboratory Personnel.
