30 Years of Caring and Growing

American Family Care, Inc. is pleased to announce its 30^th Anniversary Celebration – June 11^th – June 16^th. On June 14, 1982, AFC opened its first clinic in Hoover, Alabama. It was immediately a great success. On December 12, 2011, AFC opened the 30^th clinic in Mobile, Alabama - 30 clinics in 30 years! “We could not have accomplished any of this without our outstanding employees here at AFC” said D. Bruce Irwin, M.D., Founder and CEO of AFC.

What started as an idea by a young physician has become a successful company. Dr. D. Bruce Irwin is one of the 1^st pioneers of Urgent Care. By the end of 2012, there will be at least another eight clinics open and operating for a total of 38 medical clinics. With this growth AFC will have clinics in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia with plans to expand into Florida and Texas in 2013. This unbelievable growth will create over 500 new healthcare jobs in a down economy.

This year AFC will treat over 550,000 patients and will have treated over 10 million patients in its 30 year history. Dr. Irwin’s attributes the company’s success to our goal of 100% Patient Satisfaction as it states in our campaign – PS: It’s All About You! AFC’s vision and mission for healthcare is the same today as it was in 1982 - “It is our mission to provide the best healthcare possible, in a kind and caring environment, while respecting the rights of all patients, in an economical manner, at times and locations convenient to the patient”. The clinics are staffed with kind and caring healthcare professionals and this year the company will hire its one-thousandth employee.

All AFC clinics provide comprehensive family care, urgent care and minor emergency care, as well as occupational medicine. Clinics are equipped with high-tech and high touch digital x-ray and laboratories. Most lab work and x-rays are read and processed onsite allowing physicians to make proper and timely diagnosis’s and immediately begin the proper treatment plan. Many of the clinics offer onsite U-Save Pharmacies, making another stop unnecessary.

In everything we do, our patients always come first. Our goal is 100% patient satisfaction from start to finish. Our patients show their appreciation for our efforts by remaining loyal to us and referring family and friends. Many use American Family Care for all their medical needs. We are expected to always “go the extra mile” for our patients. As Dr. Irwin has said many times, “Without our patients, AFC would serve no purpose.” After thirty years of caring, we are still here and growing!

Who would have thought what started as a young man’s idea is now a successful healthcare company. Adherence to Dr. Irwin’s philosophy of excellent patient care and how they should be treated, has assured the continued success of American Family Care.
